ANIMATED EPISODE DIRECTOR

We are seeking an Episode Director to join our team of talented artists, working across a 52 x 11 minute upper preschool Series for Channel5/Milkshake.
The position of Episodic Director requires someone with a thorough knowledge of the 3D Animation pipeline, with previous experience in a similar role working on long format broadcast or film projects. Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple tasks in a fast-paced production

REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of industry experience in CG animation, TV, or film.
• Prior directorial experience is a MUST.
• Previous experience in 3D animation is a MUST.
• Strong storytelling skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in film, art, or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Capable of motivating and leading teams with enthusiasm.
• Comfortable in working to tight deadlines.
• A good understanding of the technical challenges of CG animation.
• Report to supervising Series Director and Producer.
• Ability to establish priorities and multi-task efficiently within a high-pressure environment while meeting strict TV deadlines.
• Previous experience working with Overseas Studio desirable.

• Partnering with the Series Director, the Episodic Director participates in all creative aspects and in all phases of the production to achieve the overall completion of a CG Episodic TV show.
• Prepare script notes for storyboard hand out and brief storyboard artist.
• Review rough storyboard and prepare any revision notes required for storyboard artist.
• Review clean storyboard and approve for delivery to editorial.
• Work with the Series Director to prepare animatic for delivery to client and prepare for animation.
• Review episodic animation passes and provide feedback for the overseas animation studio.
• Prepare responses to client feedback, create list of agreed/acceptable retakes and lock episode to time.
• Approve retakes for final episode.
• Previous experience working with Voice Talent a plus
• Experience working with Audio Post including Sound Design and Composers also a big bonus.
