Description:

SUMMARY:

Carries out management of engineering projects including estimating costs, sourcing, identifying, specifying, purchasing and installing equipment, crafting/modifying existing or new facilities, and the commissioning and qualification of equipment, utilities and facilities to meet site/company requirements.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (industrial, manufacturing, chemical, or mechanical engineering)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years previous related experience in engineering, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and process equipment preferred
    Equivalency:
    Equivalent combinations of education, training, and meaningful work experience may be considered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Works in a lab, manufacturing, and/or warehouse environment. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 40 lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Occasional periods of high noise level, which requires hearing protection, may exist. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Occasional local travel may be required. Responsibilities:

  • Monitors progress and assures all assigned projects are being completed as intended, on time and within budget.
  • Develops and presents recommended project solutions along with realistic cost estimates to internal clients. Makes appropriate changes to the scope as the scope changes during the course of the project.
  • Develops, reviews, and understands engineering drawings that include equipment recommendations. Specifies construction methods to achieve the desired objectives.
  • Develops, reviews & understands specifications for new equipment with equipment vendors and site customers.
  • Develops, reviews & drives Installation Qualification (IQ)/Operational Qualification (OQ)/Performance Qualification (PQ) protocols and change control documentation.
  • Continually leads all aspects of the contractors’ safety performance and promptly resolves any safety violations that occur.
  • Installs and commissions equipment and/or facilities per the customer and company requirements with minimal interruption to operational schedules, ensuring good engineering practices are adhered to for the construction, installation and commissioning of new processes and facilities.
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers, as well as original equipment manufacturers to provide technical expertise and recommendations on processing equipment
