ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are now looking for a dynamic, influential, and experienced P&C Manager/Workplace Relations Manager responsible for our NSW and ACT manufacturing and distribution sites; Predominantly based at our Moorebank and Erskine Park facilities, you will bring your employee relations expertise into your business partnering impact. This role is an integral member of the Goodman Fielder P&C team, and a key member of the site leadership team to deliver people initiatives, advice, support and services to state based operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Industrial relations; work through performance management, employee relations and industrial relations matters, while steering the IR strategy for your region inline with company objectives. You will be involved in EA negotiations, acting as a contact for the local unions. Driving key proactive communication initiatives to uphold principles of consultative committees to drive engagement.
  • Learning and development; prepare and co-ordinate programs and external training, support internal rollout of training programs, address specific performance improvement opportunities.
  • Perform and grow; support the annual performance review process for salaried groups, coach and develop line managers to enhance team performance and culture.
  • Site operations; review and challenge existing work practices and seek opportunities for improvement, be a role model on site by living the quality, cost and safety culture, actively participate in regular site based meetings, communicate between payroll and site, ensure compliance with required food manufacturing and customer standards, support injury management programs and non-work related injuries.
  • People and culture; ensure leadership behaviours are consistent with the vision, goal and priorities of GF, maintain focus on talent management and succession planning, ensure development plans are in place with capability needs being assessed.
  • Recruitment and selection; Partner with line management and the Talent Acquisition team promoting equal employment opportunity, provide an engaging and consistent onboarding experience to new-starters

To be successful in this role you will need to love getting to the bottom of matters, partnering with managers and building knowledge and capability along the way. You are organised, rely on facts while valuing empathy – and you enjoy the autonomy you get because of this. Further success factors are:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline; HR, Business or related
  • 8+ years in HR Blue collar, operational environments, preferably within FMCG and/or site manufacturing
  • Ability to travel occasionally between sites/states, however predominantly within NSW
  • Experience with Unions and negotiations essential
  • Knowledge of Industrial Relations, Awards, Enterprise Agreements
  • Strong communication and coaching skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence effectively
  • High computer literacy, SAP experience beneficial but not essential
