About the role
The purpose of this position is to organize and analyze data (typically HVAC, controls, and meter data) and work with facility teams and executive sponsors to discuss the findings of the analytics platform for single and multi-site locations under our building optimization services. This position also provides monthly performance reports and identifies cost avoidance opportunities to reduce energy and gain operational efficiencies. Where applicable, this position also makes changes to control system programming and updates sequences as needed

What you’ll do

  • Works to gather information and data for use in optimization and fault detection platforms.
  • Builds data presentations including visualizations, tables, and written reports.
  • Develops and maintains positive and long-term relationships with clients.
  • Investigate and prioritize analytical anomalies and provide direction and resolution to remedy undesirable building conditions.
  • Solve control system logic to identify root cause and implement corrective measures where possible.
  • Identifies and advises repair and maintenance work with respect to fault detection and diagnostics in concert with other internal CBRE|ESI teams as well as with direct clients.
  • Provide coaching and training to clients in the use of the control software and analytical tools where applicable.
  • Ensure alignment to functional policies, processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for the overall quality of the work of the functional team.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with internal/external customers, subcontractors, vendors, and engineers.
  • Keep the Building Optimization Manager advised of major developments.
  • Find opportunities to improve procedures, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Works in conjunction with the Operation Support Center and Application Development Team on the execution of Services.
  • Provides mentoring, training and guidance to Building Optimization Engineers.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 3-5 years’ experience in HVAC controls and/or mechanical systems application and design. Accredited 4 or 5 year HVAC apprenticeship would also be acceptable.
  • Minimum of five years progressive experience in HVAC and automation system control and mechanical and automatic control application, or a proven ability in a related technical field plus two years of experience in the trades and/or mechanical contracting field, or application programming and development
  • Read and understand HVAC/R and process mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, etc.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and database management ; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with data management tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Niagara N4 certified, preferred.
