Description:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, including building or leading a high profile programs with complex input from stakeholders
- 7+ years of experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior management
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across internal and external organizations to engage, influence, build consensus, and drive resolution to challenging problems.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, and experience conveying complex solutions/explanations in writing.

The ESG-eX team’s mission is to build a lasting, scalable and trusted ESG reporting infrastructure to satisfy regulatory requirements and stakeholders’ expectations. We translate external requirements into internal needs and build tools and mechanisms that enable Amazon businesses to meet their ESG reporting obligations and effectively manage their ESG opportunities and risks.
The Principal, ESG Business Engagement, will lead on developing and scaling customer focused programs to support Amazon’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosure processes. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a high level of collegiality, functioning as an ESG adviser to their respective WWS and business counterparts across mandatory ESG reporting requirements.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and operationalize a readiness program across all mandatory ESG regulations taking into account the needs across the regulatory reporting team.
- Establish key mechanisms to communicate to business partners and key Sustainabiltiy business partners on readiness.
- Develop, maintain and communicate a yearly roadmap for all business engagement activities related to ESG regulatory reporting.
- Communicate complex ESG concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-ESG professionals through business education.
- Assess how upcoming ESG laws and regulations will impact the Amazon businesses.
- Partnering within the ESG team to develop roadmaps that will prioritize data gaps, policy needs and any business lead initiatives impacting our ESG disclosure processes.
