Working with New York Life involves securing the requisite insurance licenses (Life & Annuity, Accident and Health), engaging in our robust paid training program, learning New York Life’s systems and insurance offerings (life, disability, and long-term care), and maintaining a clientele. The position also provides the opportunity to become a registered representative, offering New York Life’s investment services as well.

$65,000 - $95,000 yearlyResponsibilities:

  • Develop a prospective customer base and advertise our insurance products through referrals, cold calling, networking, and other marketing strategies to secure new business
  • Evaluate new customers’ insurance needs, insurance risk, existing coverage, long-term goals, and financial status through consultations to create a tailored experience that exceeds expectations
  • Address existing and prospective customer requests in a prompt and friendly matter, including booking new meetings and responding to inquiries regarding billing, eligibility, coverage, claims, and insurance policies
  • Process current policyholders’ insurance claims while monitoring the status of existing insurance claims
  • Manage electronic and paper records and ensure all contracting paperwork is kept current

Qualifications:

  • Prior health insurance or life insurance experience a bonus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Current Life & Health insurance license is greatly valued
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Previous customer service or experience as a sales representative preferred
