Description:

QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Based in our office in Singapore, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of estimating and/or site based commercial manager. To assist you with this, you may be overseeing one or more members of staff including, Assistant QS and Administrative Staff. You will be expected to dig into the detail, if necessary to resolve issues. You will be advising Senior Management and the project manager on all commercial and cost issues, reports and strategy, you will be expected to develop project specific processes and procedures to address the needs of the project as it evolves over time and ensure alignment with our Services Agreement and the General/Main Contractors Prime Contract and our sub contractors. In addition to this you will have a client facing role, meeting regularly with the Owners representatives and other lead consultants, including site based visits.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field.
  • A minimum of 10 years as an estimator or similar role.
  • Experiences in Pharma and Advanced Tech projects.
  • Ability to navigate specifications and plans.
  • Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of the latest building codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Proficient in On-screen take-off, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam
  • Proficient in Auto cad, Revit Structural, or any other Architectural Software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare bills of quantity. Develop strategies with subcontractors.
  • Collect quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Acquire an understanding of the bid scope, construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Organize clarification meetings for all trades, vendors, suppliers, and Engineering Teams to understand the scope of work, compliance, and other project requirements.
  • Select advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotes.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimate reports and present them to senior management before submission.
  • Ensuring that post-contract cost variances and cost auditing processes are managed.
  • Lead the Pre-Qualification process for new vendors.
  • Support the Pre-Construction team for cost estimation and prepare budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.
  • Site Visit to gather essential information for the proposal submission.
  • Maintain and update unit rates database including compiling As-Built cost for benchmarking purposes.
  • Work closely with architects and other professionals, and foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects, etc.) and clients.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments for the ongoing tenders.
  • Work diligently to perform the duties and do the best endeavour to promote the interest of the company.
