Green Street seeks highly motivated candidates with relevant work experience and superior academic credentials to join its Market Analytics team. Our Market Analytics team offers the unique opportunity to help develop a new product line within an acclaimed research group. The Associate will report to Head of European Market Analytics and the position primarily entails becoming a commercial real estate specialist across several European markets. Success in the role entails developing intimate knowledge of market dynamics and developing a deep understanding of the supply and demand drivers in the core property sectors in the private market.

A background in finance is required in addition to a strong work ethic and motivation to learn. The Associate position requires the following skills: meticulous attention to detail, strong financial data analysis skills, exceptional communication abilities (both written and verbal), high-level of organization, creativity, and resourcefulness.. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree with a focus in finance, accounting, real estate, economics, or a related field or alternatively significant experience in financial services and/or commercial real estate
  • 1-2 years’ experience in publicly traded real estate securities, general securities, capital markets, or conducting financial/economic research; investment banking experience a plus
  • Macro and economic subject interest
  • Time spent in Europe - either studying or working in a professional capacity
  • Expert Excel skills with VBA programming experience a plus
  • Familiarity with R, SAS, or other statistical packages/programs or coding skills in SQL, Python, or other database/programming applications a plus
  • Have obtained or be currently pursuing the CFA designation
  • Fluency in German, or alternatively Italian/French/Spanish, would be beneficial
  • Candidate must be currently authorized to work in the United Kingdom without future sponsorship required

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and publish a wide range of macroeconomic and market-focused reports
  • Collect, organize, and analyse real estate information on markets and submarkets throughout Europe
  • Build and maintain complex financial models and databases
  • Become an expert of Green Street’s research methodologies and valuation framework to be able to communicate effectively with clients
  • Closely follow and understand real estate market activity and the impact of news events on specific sectors, markets, and assets
  • Analyse diverse data from disparate sources to form a cohesive macroeconomic and real estate outlook
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness by seeking out new and unusual sources of information
