EVENT MARKETING SPECIALIST (FT SUMMER TEMPORARY POSITION)

This position is responsible for assisting our Marketing Coordinator during a 8 week summer term 35 hrs per week. Position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant for individuals who are 18-30 years old.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR EVENT COORDINATOR:

This is a Canada Summer Jobs grant funded position and the applicant must be between the ages of 18-30 years old.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Superior organizational and time management skills
• Creative thinker
• Outgoing and personable
• Knowledge of relevant marketing tools and applications is a plus
• Preferably experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Preferable experience with design programs
• Must provide a clear Police Information Check (PIC) and Intervention Record Check (IRC)

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR EVENT COORDINATOR:

• Support the Marketing Coordinator with planning, implementing, and monitoring our Throwin’ it Back Golf Tournament.
• Monitor and update spreadsheets such as guest list, sponsor list and etc.
• Help organize and coordinate volunteers for the tournament.
• Help approach potential sponsors and registrants for the tournament.
• Assist with marketing team and committee for the event to promote it.
• Provide follow-up emails to all registrants and sponsors to help keep everyone organized.
• Finalize a timeline for the tournament with committee and handbook for volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteers, vendors and sponsors on the day of the tournament with the Marketing Coordinator.
• Assist with picking up silent auction and raffle items
