We’re looking for an experienced and fabulous event professional to join our team and plan excellent events and activities at Mercury Baypark in Tauranga.
Reporting to the Event Planning Manager, and part of a team of three, the Event Planner ensures all aspects of event planning are completed in a smooth, efficient, and collaborative manner as part of providing excellent event experiences at Mercury Baypark.
The Event Planner works with clients to support their success, guiding them toward the best solutions as well as capturing their requirements accurately before communicating their expectations effectively to the wider team for event delivery. The role is expected to develop detailed event plans, including costs and health & safety plans as well as administer invoices.
There is a requirement to collaborate widely with our colleagues, clients, and stakeholders including event promoters, hirers, and external contractors so experience in a like role is essential as is confidence with using Momentus (Ungerboeck).
This is a full time 7-month fixed term role to cover parental leave working Tuesday – Saturday from Baypark.
If you worked with us, here’s some of the things you would have been doing lately:
· Arranging exciting expos of public interest
· Working with a locally based sports team to plan their televised games and hospitality
· Planning dinners, workshops, and meetings
· Played a role in pre-event emergency and incident scenario training
· Been the first point of contact for a portfolio of regular clients and built relationships with new clients
· Enjoyed the buzz of getting ready for some great live entertainment events
· Been part of the team preparing to plan for a summer festival season.
We are looking for:
· You must have relevant experience and a strong track record of planning a wide range of high-quality events to be considered for this role.
· Confidence with event management system Momentus (Ungerboeck) and an understanding of health and safety for events.
· Self-motivated and able to achieve ambitious goals independently
· Finely tuned attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to multitask and prioritise
