Role: Exam Officer
Pay rate: £141.93 per day
Randstad are searching for an experienced Exam Officer to join our team in supporting a secondary school located in Blackburn. This is a temporary role to cover a staff member within the school so in their absence you would be expected to pick up and resume their duties. The purpose of this role is to contribute to the development of a strong, effective school with an emphasis on promoting a culture of educational excellence, within a caring and secure environment enriched with the values of discipline, mutual care and respect which extends beyond the school into the wider community.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Manage data required by the School for external and internal use.
  • Maintenance of accurate assessment and reporting data within the school MIS database.
  • Lead on and provide administrative and clerical support for all aspects of business services, but specifically within Data, Assessment and Recording.
  • Be responsible for the exemplary maintenance of student records.
  • Support links with the community, families and local environment.
  • Be responsible for the smooth running and administration of all public examinations and to liaise with teachers, students, parents and examination boards in respect of examination requirements, entries, results and communications, ensuring that the School adheres to all Awarding Bodies regulations. Be responsible for the running of all internal and external exams.
  • In liaison with the School’s Senior Leadership Team, provide assistance and support in the strategic management and effective organisation of the school’s assessment, reporting, recording and tracking systems which assist the school in its primary function of teaching and learning.
    Essential requirements

  • 5 or more (A*-C) at GCSE including English and Maths
  • Relevant qualification in ICT/business administration or willingness to work towards.
  • Experience of managing and developing school MIS software and data systems, such as SIMS
  • Experience of producing accurate data for reporting and assessment
  • Experience of gathering and analysis of information.
  • Experience of working in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in utilising Microsoft Office software packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Access, in addition to Explorer and databases.
  • Understanding of mandatory data reporting requirements, including school census.
  • Capability to effectively prioritise tasks, work efficiently, and maintain accuracy, especially when under pressure and within deadlines, while demonstrating initiative.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and discretion, ensuring confidentiality is upheld at all times.
  • Aptitude for fostering positive relationships with students, faculty, parents, and community members.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication.
  • Personal commitment to the school’s mission statement.
  • Strong aptitude for collaborative teamwork.
  • Upholding the highest standards of personal and professional integrity.
