ABOUT THE ROLE

The Executive Assistant is responsible for the smooth running of the office of the CEO, so that the CEO office can function effectively and make high-quality decisions. Our CEO is expected to hit the ground running every day, and so the Executive Assistant’s role is to ensure that she can do that. This role plays an active part in organising almost every aspect of working life for our CEO and is a balancing act: knowing how and when to deal with issues as well as when to give people access, and ensuring our CEO is adequately briefed and prepared for every meeting she attends.
Our CEO is most often dealing with a lot of competing priorities, and so the Executive Assistant must be agile and have the ability to adapt to any situation and to get up to speed quickly in understanding what Roy Morgan does and the importance of the business in order to assist with those priorities. Being constantly flexible and ready to reassess priorities as changes appear in the CEO’s schedule, acting as the first point of contact for the CEO and representing the office and to establish where the priorities are.

To succeed in this role, the successful candidate would be/have:

  • Resilient and enjoy working within an entrepreneurial environment that is high-profile and results-driven.
  • A problem solver who is a self-starter and actively seeks opportunities, proposes solutions, and thrives on continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to plan, perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and consistency of high-quality output.
  • A high level of tact, people skills and ability to maintain confidence.
  • Able to quickly adapt to ambiguity and changing situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and confident in building effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders including clients, media, the Executive team, and all other Roy Morgan staff.
  • Able to develop and maintain a harmonious rapport based on mutual trust and respect.
  • A naturally welcoming and optimistic disposition.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Business Administration or as an Executive Assistant in a fast and dynamic environment
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification, in Business/Administration would be welcome, and ideally, some knowledge of and interest in Market Research and the sector.
  • Track record of success working with other CEOs.
  • Commercial and legal acumen.
  • Expertise in efficient office management systems and procedures, including advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite
