About the role
The role of Executive Director, Supreme Court Operations is a pivotal leadership position within Victoria’s highest Court. The role has strong engagement and exposure across all aspects of the Court as it serves the community.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how the Court operates to continuously improve processes and deliver an excellent level of service. This includes supporting the Court to embrace a digital strategy and enabling innovation to deliver better outcomes in a dynamic environment. Leading a team of dedicated staff with strong expertise, the role builds relationships across the sector to make a meaningful contribution to the administration of justice.

The focus of the role is supporting the core business of the Court in the hearing and determination of proceedings with the support of shared corporate services as part of the broader Court Services Victoria environment, including:

  • Leading, managing and mentoring staff to enhance performance and build capabilities.
  • Offering strategic advice to the Chief Justice, judiciary, CEO, and leadership team.
  • Driving strategic and business planning processes, setting clear objectives and targets.
  • Utilising expertise in court administration and project management to contribute to key projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Staying updated on international trends to innovate court operations and service delivery.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced senior leader with expertise in strategic engagement, exceptional leadership ability, and communication skills. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate:

  • A proven track record of successfully implementing organisational objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement abilities and adept interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional influencing skills and an ability to build consensus at senior levels on complex initiatives.
  • Commitment to maintaining strong professional networks.

A law degree is essential to the role. Experience in legal practice will be highly regarded.
