Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS
- Underwrite new business, Direct, Fac Inward submissions, and review renewals.
- Conduct risk assessment, determine coverage position and make referral and recommendation for risk acceptance including placing of Fac reinsurance when required.
- Prepare underwriting summary, comparison tables for new cargo risks &/or RI offers for management’s review and referral for approval.
- Business and relationship development with international and local brokers/intermediaries and other insurers in relation to risks offered to MSFC for reinsurance.
- Assist to develop and grow the cargo portfolio to achieve cargo dept growth targets.
- Assist to supervise Processing Staff to issue policies for Direct & Reinsurance contracts.
Including checking and drafting of complex policies & endorsement
- Assist Finance Dept to follow up with cargo outstanding premiums when required.
- Assist to create policy records in company’s policy processing system & accumulation numbers for policy processing.
- Ensuring underwriting audit and compliance guidelines are met and ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records of policies and transactions.
- Support Claims department by assisting in the claims process by providing underwriting support and expertise.
- Working closely with other underwriting team members, actuaries, and risk managers.
- Contributing to team goals and objectives through collaboration and effective communication.
- Any other tasks & duties as & when assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Recognized Insurance Diploma ie ACII or ANZiF or minimum CGI / GCE O or A level
- Preferably minimum 5 years working experience in General Insurance Industry & in the Marine Cargo Department
- Proficient in Office Applications -Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and Webex
- Dedicated dependable reliable and responsible individual.
- Self-Motivated and goal oriental driven individual
- A good team player and work well within teams.
