Description:
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
- Appointments to this position will require proof of qualification/s and current registration under the National Scheme, as determined by the Paramedicine Board of Australia.
- Applicants must have a minimum of an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Ambulance); certification to practice as a Paramedic in Queensland; or equivalent qualifications, as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner, QAS.
- Applicants are required to hold an open Queensland ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence (for a manual motor car).
- It is an express condition of employment for all people who are to perform roles with direct patient contact to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following infectious diseases during their employment: Diphtheria; Tetanus; Pertussis (Whooping Cough); Hepatitis B; Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); Varicella (Chickenpox); Influenza. Please note, there may be additional vaccination requirements depending on individual circumstances as specified in the QAS Infection Control Framework.
- Whilst not mandatory, tertiary or postgraduate qualification/s in health management, business or another relevant discipline will be highly regarded.
We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues impacting the delivery of ambulance and health services and the proven ability to understand and apply business and resource management principles, to support the provision of high-quality pre-hospital patient care to the Queensland community.
- Highly developed leadership skills with demonstrated capabilities and experience in managing large, diverse, multidisciplinary teams in an environment of competing priorities and needs with limited resources.
- Demonstrated program management skills including experience in effectively managing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on programs and projects within a complex and demanding emergency or health service environment.
- Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation, consultation, and collaboration skills and the proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including the QAS Senior Executive Management, Regions, Queensland Health, and other government departments.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills including a demonstrated ability to interpret financial and trend/output/outcome performance data to drive performance improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to drive, influence and implement strategic planning activities to promote organisational change and service systems reforms to ensure and improve QAS service delivery models.
