EXECUTIVE OFFICER MISSION RESOURCING
Unit of Synod/Presbytery/Congregation: Uniting College for Leadership and Theology
Classification: Full Time Fixed Term

DESCRIPTION:
The Synod of South Australia has articulated its vision as: An innovative, growing church proclaiming Jesus Christ, empowered by the Spirit to transform God’s world. In pursuit of this vision, it has established the Mission and Leadership Development Board (MLD Board) to support the development of healthy missional churches, life-long disciples, and effective leaders to bear witness to the good news of Jesus to the world.
The MLD ministry centre includes the work and staff of Mission Resourcing, Uniting College for Leadership and Theology (UCLT), the Adelaide Theological Library (ATL) and the Centre for Aboriginal Spirituality.
The Synod of South Australia now seeks to appoint an Executive Officer: Mission Resourcing who will work with the Synod Standing Committee, the Executive Officers and the Principal of the College to give oversight to the mission priorities of the Synod of Sout Australia. In particular, they will focus on the Mission Framework developed in 2023 in response to a survey by Angel Wings of mission resourcing needs in the Synod. These priorities include:
- A Covenant Come Alive
- Developing Intercultural Capacity
- Strengthening Local Community Mission
- Evangelism
- Faith Formation and Vitality
- Congregational Renewal.
The Executive Officer: Mission Resourcing will operationalise the Missional Framework of the MLD Board in response to the Synod’s vision and strategic priorities, and in a way that is consistent with the polity and ethos of the UCA as described in the Basis of Union.
