About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide high level administrative support to the Director, Commercial Activities and to manage the administrative function of the Commercial Activities directorate.
About you

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following values within the context of the ‘Key Accountabilities’. The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated understanding of, or the ability to rapidly acquire a high level understanding of the structure of Metro North Commercial Activities Directorate and the policies and procedures governing its operation.
  • Proven ability to manage the diary and commitments of high level managerial positions, including excellent skills in administrative support systems, customer service and records management in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and finite resources.
  • Proven organisational skills and demonstrated ability to work autonomously to establish work priorities and meet predetermined deadlines and commitments in a high-pressure environment, including the use of electronic systems for time management.
  • Demonstrated high level skills in managing the flow of people and business functions, liaise and consult with a wide range of internal and external clients regarding sensitive and confidential matters, and maintain effective working relationships in a high-pressure environment.
  • Advanced interpersonal and negotiation skills incorporating the ability to manage confidential information in an ethical and sensitive manner whilst effectively liaising with staff at various levels and disciplines to build productive relationships and enabling the appropriate resolution of issues.
  • High level written communication skills and the ability to prepare complex correspondence with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge of contemporary computer applications and systems, including the Microsoft Office suite and databases.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong problem-solving skills with proven experience identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to delegate tasks as appropriate and supervise staff to ensure the delivery of high quality outcomes within required timeframes.
