Description:
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You will have:
- Have accreditation with Exercise and Sport Science Australia as an Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and have experience within the field of cardiometabolic health.
- Have a high level of clinical competence with proven experience in building rapport and treating a diverse client base with a wide range of needs.
- Demonstrated initiative and flexibility in approach to service delivery.
- Have excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage a range of tasks with conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines without compromising close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive approach to teamwork and willingness to undertake a broad range of clinical and non-clinical duties.
- A high level of interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people at a variety of levels internal and external to the Institute.
- Demonstrated ability to be a proactive team member and contribute to team development and work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
- Highly developed written communication skills to ensure accurate case recording and statistics.
- Proven ability to work as a member of a team as well as on own initiative without close supervision.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will be expected to:
- Contribute to the planning, execution and completion of clinical research projects that aim to improve patient’s outcomes under the supervision of study investigators.
- Supervise exercise training with research participants.
- Assist with the implementation and project management of exercise physiology research projects.
- Assist with implementation and delivery of exercise physiology programs as part of relevant clinical trials.
- Undertake assessment of study participants, including administration of quality of life questionnaires, exercise testing, physical function and assessment of physical activity and sedentary behaviour.
- Undertake data collection, data entry and data analysis and collect trial outcome measures related to exercise intervention.
- Monitoring training progress and coordinating study activities.
- Liaising with clinical staff and communicating study progress to study investigators.
- Promote effective communication within the team and work in a collaborative manner with research study team members at the Baker Institute.
