Position Summary
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Exercise Scientist to join our team working at our Forest Hill AgeWell Centre before moving to our new facility in Burwood East.

- Position: Exercise Scientist
- Type: Part time – 3 days ideal - negotiable
- Location: Forest Hill initially, then moving to Burwood East (2km away)

You are motivated to achieve great results, and care about enhancing clients’ self-esteem and empowering them to manage their health. You are available to work regular business hours on weekdays (days negotiable).
We are looking for individuals with:
- A recognised tertiary qualification in Exercise Science
- ESSA accreditation as an Exercise Scientist
- Demonstrated experience in the completion of physical assessments, goal setting and exercise prescription interventions for clientele over the age of 65
- Experience with supervising group exercise programs (desirable)
- Experience in the Aged Care or Community Sectors (desirable)
- Demonstrated capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- High level organisational skills and computer literacy

Responsibilities:
This opportunity is for a motivated Exercise Scientist with a commitment to high quality assessment and the delivery of evidence based exercise programming to join this innovative Allied Health team.
With a strong focus on enhancing client wellbeing, as the qualified Exercise Scientist you will be responsible for the assessment, exercise prescription and health education of older adults attending our Seniors Gym program.
Our service focuses on clients’ strengths, is goal-directed and aims to maximise independence and autonomy. Our team of Exercise Professionals is a large and supportive team with regular team meetings, one-to-one clinical supervision and support from the Clinical lead.
The ideal candidate will be client focused, reliable and adaptable, motivated and committed to the provision of customer centred care, and have the capacity to work well autonomously and in a team environment.
