WHO WE ARE SUPPORTING

The NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO’s member countries and its partners. The agency was established in 2012 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

The NCIA provides a wide range of services, including:

  • Cyber Security: The NCIA provides advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO’s communication networks and information systems against cyber threats.
  • Command and Control Systems: The NCIA develops and maintains the systems used by NATO’s military commanders to plan and execute operations.
  • Satellite Communications: The NCIA provides satellite communications services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces.
  • Electronic Warfare: The NCIA provides electronic warfare services to support NATO’s mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks.
  • Information Management: The NCIA manages NATO’s information technology infrastructure, including its databases, applications, and servers.

Overall, the NCIA plays a critical role in ensuring the security and effectiveness of NATO’s communication and information technology capabilities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Profound knowledge of the NATO exercise Planning Process
  • Profound knowledge of the Agency R2P process
  • Team leading skills
  • Assertive in dealing with other people, internally and externally, in order to accomplish Agency exercise support in narrow timeframe
  • Adaptive Team member
  • Knowledge and experience of pertinent modern communications and information systems
  • Knowledge of NATO CIS
  • MS-SharePoint, MS-Projects and MS-Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Good briefing skills
  • Certified Prince 2
  • Experience with coordinating NATO staff work, a minimum of three years’ experience with NATO exercises
  • Experience as an Officer Primary Responsibility (OPR) for NATO exercises, including leading a response cell
  • Experience with Agency cross-Service Line resource allocation and coordination
  • Experience in leading exercise/project teams
  • Experience with Resource Management
  • Experience in representing teams or entities

Responsibilities:

  • Act as Agency OPR
  • Act as SPOC for specified exercises within the Agency
  • Lead the Agency Response Cell during execution phase
  • Act as main contact to the customer and towards NATO Command Structure, NATO Force Structure and Nations
  • Attend exercise conferences, represent the Agency and collect CIS requirements
  • Allocate resources for those requirements and coordinate required resources
  • Set up project for those exercises
  • Prepare and staff the Tasking Order for those exercises
  • Represent the Agency on DV-Days during exercise execution phases
  • Participate at ARF Standby meetings and conferences (including preparation and after-meeting work)
  • Coordinate support coordination in case of incidents to NRF CIS readiness
  • Attend exercise preparation conferences (EXSPEC, IPC, MPC FCC)
  • Participate in exercise (deployment)
  • After-action work (Lessons Learnt, Lessons Identified)
  • Coordination support for additional exercises
  • Pre-planning coordination, capturing possible CIS support requests
  • Attend exercise conferences (EXSPEC, IPC, MPC, TCC, FCC, XPMG, CPMT)
  • Act as OPR during execution phase
  • Collect inputs from various commands and NCIA exercise planners and update overviews
  • Coordinate with CyOC prioritization and prepare endorsement for CyOC
