– EXPERIENCED CONSULTANT/ SENIOR CONSULTANT, EXPATRIATE & EMPLOYMENT TAX

Due to growth, we have an opportunity for a Experienced Consultant or Senior Consultant specialising in expatriate and employment taxes to join our Corporate & International Tax team in Brisbane. You will be part of a high performing team that advises on complex Australian taxation law matters. Your role will involve providing advisory and compliance services to a diverse range of clients ranging from high net-worth individuals with complex international tax affairs to large private and international groups.

IDEALLY, YOU’LL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Hold a university degree in commerce, accounting and/or law (or related disciplines)
  • 1-4 years’ expatriate tax experience (working in the tax practice of a Big 4/mid-tier accounting firm)
  • CA/CPA/CTA Qualification or Masters of Taxation (or working towards)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion for continued learning and improving your technical expertise
  • Exposure consulting a range of clients

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the management of global assignee programs including preparation of income tax returns and income tax equalisation calculations for expatriates, and handling client communications
  • Provision of complex residency advice, private ruling applications and reasonable arguable position papers
  • Provision of employee share scheme tax advice
  • Undertaking employment tax engagements
  • Liaising with the ATO regarding client matters
  • Preparation of fringe benefits tax returns and work papers
  • Helping to mentor and develop technical skills of graduates and junior staff
