Description:
The opportunity
This position will be part of our BMS Software team and the Polestar Propulsion Department. This is a team with a mission to deliver results exceeding customers’ expectations. It is a diverse team of 15 colleagues (software engineers, calibration engineers, test engineers and system designers). The competence covers all different areas within BMS system and the team is highly involved in all areas related to development and testing.

This position is based at our office in Arendal (Gothenburg), Sweden.
The responsibilities
The area of responsibility spans from researching innovative solutions to developing state-of-the-art battery management software with test and release.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Designing, developing and validating software related to battery management systems in the vehicle but also supporting testing of the complete system in the vehicle.
Manage beta-testing and establish data-driven closed-loop feedback of the performance, work with dashboards and metrics.Push us to create value for thermal management functions, battery health and learn fast about cells and their behavior.
Essentially, you will be one of our experts in implementing software that will maximize attributes like range, charging performance, and energy efficiency while always prioritizing battery safety and system availability.

To be successful and thrive in this role we believe you:
- Extensive experience in automotive development. You probably have more than ten years’ experience working in Electrical engineering and software development within the automotive industry.
- Have at least five years of battery software-specific experience.
- Education within electrical engineering or other equivalent university degree.
- Strong competence in battery management systems (Matlab Simulink) and embedded ECU programming.
- Great initiative and collaborative skills
