What will you need to be successful in this role?

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in an international company
  • Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a similar role, with an emphasis on current affairs and news, with strong analytical skills to monitor, interpret, and respond to current world events
  • Strong understanding of media and operating environment as well as communications strategies, tactics and approaches
  • Solid understanding of digital channels, content and impactful strategies on digital platforms with ability to manage them to execution
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as you will often be writing communication materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft messages quickly that engage and inform
  • Proven experience in the content creation lifecycle, from concept development to publishing in various channels.
  • An eye for storytelling that connects technical capabilities with human-centric narratives, particularly in response to urgent global events.
  • Fluency in English, with proven experience of content creation and editorial work; other languages are considered a plus
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate and influence across the teams - strong track record of cross-functional collaboration
  • Thriving in a fast-paced, multicultural growth environment
  • Flexible, positive attitude with entrepreneurial hands-on drive and spirit
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a relevant field.

In addition to the above, it would be beneficial if you had the below attributes and skills:

  • Previous knowledge/understanding of Earth observation and/or synthetic aperture radar (SAR)
  • Previous experience in software, data science, high-technology or related industries
  • Experience/understanding of a geospatial organization, B2G, or natural catastrophes related fields

    What are we looking for?

Our diverse and dynamic team is expanding, and our global Marketing and Communications team is looking for an External Communications Manager to develop our global external communications and media relations. In line with ICEYE’s vision of improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation, we aim to build a newsdesk-like capability within our Marketing and Communications team, and this role will manage our online and offline communication strategies focused on current world events and natural catastrophes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and execution of external communications & media activities together with the ICEYE MarComms team and a network of external agency partners with a global scope
  • Managing external online communications activities on ICEYE digital platforms
  • Collaborate closely with the External Communications Director and marketing leads for lines of business, playing a crucial role in the strategic direction of ICEYE’s communications efforts for high impact and contribute to the development of communications tactics, capabilities and processes
  • Own ICEYE’s current affairs communication strategy to highlight ICEYE’s capabilities in providing timely Earth observation data and insights and work with business stakeholders to develop and implement an efficient process for responding to current events.
  • Craft compelling marketing and communications materials for distribution across various channels.
  • Engage with media outlets and the public to promote ICEYE’s role in providing critical data and insights for current world events.
