Responsibilities:
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Located in Williamtown, as part of the Database Generation System (DBGS) team, the F-35 Visual Simulation Developer is responsible for the design, development, and integration of multispectral simulation databases for use in the F-35 Full Mission Simulators (FMS). This team uses a software-based modelling toolkit to build and modify gaming areas, moving models, environmental characteristics and visual effects based on evolving training operational requirements.
DUTIES:
- Work with customer training authorities to collect multispectral simulation database requirements.
- Plan and monitor database development projects.
- Source, analyse and process GIS (Geographic Information System) data for relevant areas of interest.
- Source, analyse and process digital terrain data for relevant areas of interest.
- Source, analyse and process (rectify, colour balance and clean) high resolution satellite imagery.
- Source / create, edit and material classify textures for use in 2D and 3D models.
- Convert and incorporate geographic data into the visual and sensor gaming areas.
- Create both the visual and sensor representations of air, ground and sea-based threats.
- Create and modify 2D and 3D models including airfields, buildings, and terrain insets.
- Interface 3D models with software products that control the model behaviour and interaction with F-35.
- Analyse development requirements, create integration and test plans in collaboration with quality assurance and configuration management teams.
- Integrate and test multispectral simulation databases into the F-35 Full Mission Simulator.
- Work with Military / Contractor Instructor Pilots to verify and validate multispectral simulation databases on the F-35 Full Mission Simulator.
