Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

Open fabrics team is looking for passionate Lab engineer to enable fabrics productization. You’ll join Intel’s Software and Advanced Technology Group (SATG) Developer Software Engineering (DSE) division.
The main duties are building, configuration, and maintenance of high-performance computing clusters. These clusters will be used for development, testing, performance analysis in the internal Lab. And they are predominantly Linux based clusters, with High performance Fabrics like InfiniBand and 100-200Gb Data Center Ethernet. The work includes installation and troubleshooting of both production and preproduction servers, GPUs, switches, and software, as well as development of scripts for automation of cluster provisioning and configuration. In addition, the maintenance includes support for users of the systems, internal documentation of practices, and general maintenance of the Iab spaces.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Programming, Applied Science or Similar plus 2 years of experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in Linux or Unix system administration and maintenance.
  • 2+ years’ experience Hardware and software troubleshooting
  • 2+ years’ experience in one or more scripting Languages is required, preferably Perl, Python and/or shell scripting
  • 1+ years’ experience with Linux clusters/management, e.g., Rocks or Warewulf installations, slurm
  • Setting up Jenkins CI testing environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Programming, Applied Science or Similar
  • The following experience / skills are desired, but not required:
  • Network file storage and backup administration
  • Building non-standard Linux kernels
  • Batch system setup, tuning, and administration
  • LDAP setup and administration
  • IP and network routing configuration and security
  • Server management using out-of-band tools
  • Server platform performance tools
