JOB TITLE: Facilities Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

A project engineer must be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment handling simultaneously occurring tasks and have excellent written and oral communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline required.
  • A thorough understanding of the main principles of Civil Engineering, Engineering and Construction.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to self-manage and adapt quickly to changing demands.
  • Ability to operate safely and within site guidelines.
  • Knowledge of function-specific information systems.
  • Ability to create work orders, order parts, and schedule work through Maintenance Planner.
  • SAP proficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise the business on measures to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the facility and assist Maintenance, Construction and Roads & Grounds with facility repairs.
  • Identify chronic issues that cause delays to critical plant equipment and continually inspect parts for related facilities safety items.
  • Work with site engineering & maintenance resources to develop project scope and objectives.
  • Follow project front-end loading process and identify project phases and design requirements.
  • Perform project financial analysis and lead the project through the approval process by developing project estimates including equipment, construction and commissioning costs.
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
  • Complete paperwork for Hazard Assessments, confined space entries, etc.
  • Work with vendors on getting quotes for parts, PPE, safety items, etc.
  • Source and oversee contracts and service providers for functions such as catering, cleaning, parking, security, and technology and schedule work through Maintenance Manager for contract services.
  • Review contracts from painting vendors, elevator repair, Southern Air, Arbon, etc. and verify that correct quantities on orders are received for contractor jobs.
  • Supervise teams of staff across different divisions and perform all duties in a safe working manner, following all of Axalta’s safety policies and procedures.
