THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Facilities & Grounds Supervisor to provide leadership to a small team responsible for maintenance of grounds, building infrastructure and aspects of satellite communication antennas at our Geraldton site.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful you will need to have:
• Experience in leading teams performing grounds and/or building maintenance activities in a commercial, industrial or Defence role (or leadership experience in a similar industry).
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work in a diverse team environment.
• Ability to use initiative, prioritise and work within defined timeframes.
• Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to WH&S and workplace diversity.
• Experience in basic computer use, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Physical capacity to undertake manual labour, ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and outdoors.
• Suitability to work in a high security environment.
• Current Driver’s Licence.
• Desirable certifications and licenses: construction induction training card (white card), conservation and land management training and pest management licence.
Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of maintenance and cleaning staff by personally demonstrating and applying leadership and management skills, and a commitment to modelling ethical business conduct.
• Plan and supervisor all Facilities and Grounds preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Implement continuous improvement by monitoring the condition and operational performance of equipment, collecting technical data and evaluating maintenance procedures.
• Use computerised maintenance management systems to accurately record maintenance activities.
