JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Technician to join our team. As a Facilities Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and upkeep of our facilities, including buildings, equipment and infrastructure. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities, providing a safe, compliant, functional, and comfortable environment for our employees, customers, and visitors. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, problem solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify and address maintenance and repair needs.

  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical repairs (preferred) , carpentry, painting, and minor HVAC maintenance, to ensure proper functioning of facilities.

  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks to minimize the risk of equipment failure and ensure optimal performance.

  • Primary contact for receiving function. Ensures delivered product/material, are properly received and staged in correct location including garage, receiving dept, warehouse, or other designated locations.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment maintenance schedules.

  • Assist contractors as needed for maintenance projects, obtaining quotes, and ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, and place orders as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of facility improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, functionality, and aesthetics.

  • Provide support during emergencies or unexpected situations, such as power outages, equipment failures, or severe weather events.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in facilities maintenance or related fields is a plus. Experience in lieu of degree with verified work experience and understanding of role functions.

  • Proven experience as a Facilities Technician or in a similar role, with a strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and repair techniques preferred.

  • Proficient in performing basic repairs in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC is preferred.

  • Familiarity with tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in facilities maintenance.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees, contractors, and vendors.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to facilities maintenance.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
