Description:

Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of Full Time Facilities Repair and Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Team based in Prince Albert. This position will serve all our locations in North Central Saskatchewan.

WHO YOU ARE:

You are looking for a career in facilities maintenance and

  • You have 1-3 years of facility repair and maintenance experience
  • You have experience and/or knowledge in plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry and overall general maintenance skills
  • You are well organized and capable of attaining a high level of production with a minimum amount of supervision
  • You are honest, trustworthy, are results oriented, and are proud of the work that you do
  • You must be able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • You must have strong attention to detail and are able to remain calm under pressure
  • You have the flexibility to respond to issues outside of regular working hours as required, there is a weekend rotation component to this position
  • Physical labour is required; including standing, driving, walking, climbing and kneeling; must be able to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and to work from lifts and ladders; lifting and carrying weighted material (up to 50lbs)
  • Work is both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must have a valid Class 5 license – travel is required through out the Lake Country Co-op trading area; occasional overnight travel
  • Safety equipment is provided and is required at all times; safety boots are required

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach
  • Conduct the ongoing inspections, maintenance, and repairs of the structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing including manual and automatic car wash bays
  • Maintain compliance with Asset Protection and Health and Safety Standards completing assigned work in a safe manner at all times, while wearing all appropriate PPE, obeying rules of the road, and following all appropriate safety policies and procedures
  • Determine best practices for implementing ongoing preventative measures and addressing the reactive and emergent requirements to prolong life of existing and new equipment
  • Respond to building deficiencies in a timely and professional manner
  • Use data base and communication tools to track assigned work, record notes, and close cases

  • All other duties as assigned
