KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Significant experience in managing operations, particularly in a critical environment such as a data centre.
  • In-depth understanding of data centre infrastructure, including electrical systems, cooling, fire detection, and suppression, as well as power generation.
  • A qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering is beneficial, alongside a proven track record in a relevant supervisory role.
  • Well-versed in coordinating with customers on operational and technical matters.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Facilities Shift Manager is a dynamic and pivotal role responsible for managing the operations of our data centre. This hands-on leadership position ensures the smooth functioning of our critical environment, maintaining the integrity of our operational systems, and leading a team of experts to deliver exceptional service to our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee the shift operations in the data centre, ensuring all systems perform optimally, including power and cooling equipment, and monitoring and security systems.
  • Exercise strong teamwork skills to lead and motivate the facilities management team and liaise with specialist contractors.
  • Coordinate all scheduled maintenance activities, ensuring they are executed correctly and on time through diligent time management practices.
  • Strong attention to detail in creating and reviewing maintenance reports and records for accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure the facility adheres to all relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Provide adaptable and clear communication as you define project requirements and offer technical guidance throughout project execution phases.
