Chinook School Division is seeking a full time Facility Assistant for the Swift Current Comprehensive High School to work 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. with a half hour supper break, Monday to Friday all days students are in attendance and 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a half hour lunch break all non-student attendance days.

Maintain a positive attitude, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with students, staff, parents, the general public and school division personnel
Maintain confidentiality and use discretion in all instances
Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude
Demonstrate diligence, strong work ethic, and pride in workmanship
Perform minor interior and exterior repairs/maintenance
Perform daily cleaning, dusting, washing, polishing and scrubbing
Demonstrate an interest in students and in education
Work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Display energy, initiative, and enthusiasm
QU A LI F I C AT I O NS :
Ability to work collaboratively with the Facility Operator to determine priorities for floor care and special projects
Ability to deal tactfully and cooperatively with public, students, staff
Strong leadership skills
Child centered
Good team member
Minimum of Grade 12 diploma would be an asset
Preference will be given to applicants who possess a Fireman’s Certificate
Minimum of 1-year experience in building maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical systems
Good mechanical ability with strong capabilities in the area of troubleshooting
Strong background and knowledge of safe workplace practices
Proficient in the use of all hand tools and equipment
Good physical condition

Starting wage: $21.62/hour plus a supervisory allowance of $2.97/hour
