Job Title: Facility Electrical Technician
Salary: UKRI Band D S1 £42,840 - £47,124 gross per annum dependant on experience
Location: RAL, Harwell Campus- Oxfordshire
Contract Type: Up to 2x Permanent Positions

Responsibilities:
WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE?
You will work within the NQCC’s facilities team in close collaboration with the superconducting, Ion trap and Software and controls teams. Working on a variety of challenging instillation projects, utilising, and enhancing your skills in assembly, test, and integration to support the development of scalable, flexible, and robust quantum computing assets that can be deployed to meet the goals of the NQCC enabling the delivery of scalable quantum computing capabilities.
Your responsibilities include:
- Provide good electrical engineer design, integration experience and input into all the NQCC’s technical groups and new facilities programs of work.
- Supporting the broad technical commissioning of two NQCC flagship buildings. Including lab, plant, and scientific hardware, for e.g., vacuum technology, cryogenics systems, process water chillers.
- To be self-motivated and able to work independently, recognise the priorities in a busy new facility.
- Provide appropriate technical information to and supervise contract staff and subcontractors for the manufacture of electrical control panels and peripheral equipment.
- Carry out fault –finding, maintenance and repairs of operational control systems.
- Procure material, components, and spares, maintain suitable stock to support critical hardware.
- Work within the STFC safety policies and codes to create a safe environment to work
