POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Facility Security Officer (FSO)/ Office Administration
REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
WORK EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years of relevant or similar experience, preferably within a government contractor role.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree required, or 2 years of experience with an associate’s degree, or 6 years of experience with no degree.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
REQUIREMENTS: Current Secret Security Clearance. US Citizen or authorized immigration status.
Skills and Characteristics:
Extreme attention to detail. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Team player. Flexible and capable of multi-tasking. Comfortable with constant change and can communicate effectively with multiple levels of management. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping. Possess evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
Physical Requirements: General office environment, ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities:

Position Summary: The FSO manages and administers the day-to-day operations of the Security Office functions and duties. The FSO prepares security clearance forms, tracks clearance updates and renewal requirements, and educates employees on handling classified information. As the office administrator, serve as Document Control Administrator (DCA). Maintains managerial responsibility and authority for Purchasing function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate purchases including but not limited to performing corporate account signatory duties.
  • Prepare, manage, and distribute correspondence as required.
  • Ability to research, manage, and obtain business licenses.
  • Manage company facilities, and company property including inventory reporting.
  • Manual and electronic filing of archived correspondence, including server file management.
  • Prepare, coordinate, obtain approval for, and execute security plans (Security Operating Procedures (SOP), Systems Security Plans (SSPs), Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), etc.).
  • Interface directly with program management to address security items specific to each program/contract. Present security program as a business enabler.
  • Prepares security volumes and provides security oversight and support to business development and proposal development.
  • Collaborate with corporate security personnel for security metrics reporting and to keep executive-level leadership well informed of issues that could impact specific contracts or the corporate enterprise.
  • Document reviews for compliance with Government requirements and classified information.
  • Increase security proficiency and value through continued security education and training.
  • Delivers Security Awareness, Training, and Education briefings to program personnel.
  • Interface directly with customer security representatives for required reporting of personnel clearance actions and any relevant changes to our security baseline.
  • Administrative security duties, including badge preparations, data input/management, filing, visit certifications, and coordinating actions with external FSOs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
