Description:
BCIT’s School of Health Sciences is seeking a temporary, part-time (0.47 FTE) Faculty for the Environmental Health (Public Health Inspection) program for the Fall 2024 term to teach ENVH 7266 Epidemiology.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree preferred. Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum of five years of recent experience related to Environmental Public Health.
- C.P.H.I.( C ) certification preferred with eligibility for registration in BC.
- Demonstrated teaching ability of Environmental Public Health subjects preferred.
- Evidence of professional development in the Environmental Public Health field.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency.
- Proficiency in Learning Content Management Systems and educational technologies are assets.
- Knowledge and experience of curriculum development using various delivery methods.
- Demonstrated communication skills, problem-solving skills, ability to organize work and complete on deadline, ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
Responsibilities:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivery of Environmental Public Health course material in-person and potentially online.
- Design and develop curriculum and instructional media in alignment with the CIPHI BOC Core Competencies for Environmental Public Health Professionals
- Prepare supplementary course materials, including course outlines, schedules, and learning guides
- Plan and coordinate classroom activities and assessments with faculty colleagues.
- Deliver the course material to learners within BCIT’s quality assurance framework.
- Evaluate student progress and facilitate student achievement.
- Provide ongoing mentorship, support, guidance and advice to learners.
- Work to identify best practices that inform the development of new learning outcomes for the Environmental Health curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with program team members
