OPPORTUNITY
MacEwan University is seeking a detail-oriented individual for a full-time continuing opportunity within Academic Affairs, working with the Deans’ offices and the Provost and University Governance Offices to supporting the governance processes for our Faculties of Nursing and Health and Community Studies, ensuring processes operate according to policies and regulations.
Specifically, you would be responsible for:
- Providing governance-related analysis, advice and support to the Deans, Associate Deans and Department Chairs;
- Establishing and administering appropriate processes to support the governance functions of both Faculties and ensure alignment with institutional policy, process and practice and with relevant regulatory requirements;
- Providing the secretariat function for the Faculty Councils and their Executive and other governance committees within the Faculties;
- Advising Faculty Council and Committee Chairs and members on governance matters and facilitating the operation of committees established to conduct Faculty business; and
- Supporting aspects of the processes laid out in the MacEwan Faculty Association Collective Agreement with respect to academic appointment, performance evaluation, tenure and promotion.

- The ability to analyze data and processes; and
- Technical skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a diploma in Business Administration or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible and diversified administrative experience.
- Experience with academic governance and faculty relations work is considered an asset.
- Experience in a post-secondary or related public sector environment is considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
