ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Nova Scotia Health is seeking a full-time family physician. The Physician will be located in the community of Dartmouth South, 380 Portland Street. This clinic is collaborative in nature and consists of two family physicians, a nurse practitioner, a family practice nurse, and a pharmacist. This clinic will support a blend of attached and unattached patients, allowing for a diverse practice experience. It is managed by Nova Scotia Health with administrative support and is fully integrated on a Med Access enterprise with other Primary Care Clinic sites in Central Zone.
The is a brand new, well maintained facility with access to a meeting space. There is on site parking for staff and is on a direct bus route. Dartmouth South PCC will work closely with community partners to deliver health education that align with PHC principles.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on health care. health promotion and disease prevention
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient’s advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
