Description:

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

The Wije’winen Health Centre downtown Halifax is seeking a 0.2 FTE to cover a maternity leave from April 2024 to January 2025 (end date flexible).
This is a fantastic multidisciplinary clinic serving Mi’kmaq families in Halifax and beyond. The centre is located within the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre on Brunswick Street. This clinic refers collaboratively to the other teams at the centre including mental health, housing, social work and so much more! There is a pediatrician and psychiatrist starting very soon as well.
There are three MOA’s, a RN, the medical director, (who is also a LPN), a mental health LPN, and three other family physicians (who each work a day a week at the clinic). There have been, and will continue to be, medical students and residents working with this team, (usually on electives).
Pay is based on the current CAFP agreement.
Wije’winen Health Centre is a very rewarding place to work.
Here is the clinic website: https://www.wijewinenhealthcentre.com/
Any interested physicians can contact Ashley Williams (cell 782-409-6542, email ashleycampbellwilliams@gmail.com) and she can help set up an in person or virtual meeting with Dr. Brent Young (clinical lead) and Paulina Meader (medical director).
