Family Works Waitemata has an exciting and rewarding full time opportunity for a qualified Social Worker to join their dynamic, progressive, and successful Family Start team providing the earliest intervention, via their home visiting service to vulnerable babies, children and their families in West Auckland and the North Shore.

  • Connecting with families and working in partnership
  • Managing caseloads, assessing safety risks and completing strength and needs assessments.
  • Formulating plans and strategies with families.
  • Work effectively with other agencies to achieve goals & advocate in the client’s interests
  • Supports and empowers families to advocate on their own behalf
  • Participates in professional and team development and up-skilling, including peer supervision and case reviews
  • Maintain client records & files

Ngā pūkenga kei a koe I Your Skills and Experience

  • Social work qualification
  • Registered with SWRB as a full member or graduate registration.
  • Full/Current Driver’s License
  • Experience working with children and families and an understanding of Family Violence, Addictions, OT involvement and Mental Health.
  • Experience working with Tangata Whenua and/or families from diverse cultures and ethnicities
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with sound prioritization and time management skills
