variety of events in our Valley Event Centre and horse agistment services on our 3000 acre wilderness property. We

Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role is to carry out a wide range of general farm work, property maintenance and project related
tasks including operating our farm machinery and equipment to repair, maintain, install and improve our property and
facilities.
What we are looking for
All applicants need to be over 18 years of age, non-smoking, physically fit, self-motivated, and capable of carrying out
strenuous physical labor, they must also possess the desirable skills, experience, and qualifications relevant to the
position we have on offer. Expririence in the Farming, construction or agricultural Industries is preferred.
Ideal candidates will enjoy working outdoors in a rural type setting, and not afraid to chip in and get your hands dirty
in a team environment doing a range of behind-the-scenes tasks associated with maintaining and operating a large
rural tourism and events property. Applicants will be assessed using the list of key result areas in the job description.
Remuneration
The standard hours of employment are 7am to 5pm Mon – Fri, with 30 mins for lunch and 15 mins for morning tea.
This position is offered at an hourly rate of $36 per hour. Based on actual hours worked this equates to an
approximate salary of $85,230 per annum or $94,605.30 per annum including superannuation. All rates are before
tax. This is a full time, permanent position with paid holiday leave and personal leave etc. Your ordinary hourly rate
incorporates and offsets all entitlements including overtime, penalties (including Sunday and Public Holiday penalties),
allowances, and annual leave loading as contained within the Award.

Performance Outcomes
Farm/Property Maintenance Carry out all types of general farm work and other necessary works e.g. cutting up trees,
general earthworks and machinery operation tasks, digging drains, maintaining trails and
tracks, rubbish removal, lawn mowing, chainsawing, slashing and other associated tractor
work, etc
As directed, assist with various property improvement projects, routine maintenance and
repairs of farm buildings, grounds, property and facilities
Assist with various rural fencing and rural plumbing/irrigation repairs and projects
Takes responsibility for the quality and standard of works undertaken
As required, assist with regular care and maintenance of pasture lands including
fertilisation, irrigation, planting, seeding and weed control.
Farm Machine Operating Safe, productive and professional operation of various pieces of machinery including
backhoes, bobcats, tipping trucks, dust suppression truck, graders and tractors with
slashers, seeding equipment and fertiliser spreaders etc.
Handle all machinery in a safe and efficient manner thus ensuring service requirements,
faults, breakages and repairs are minimised. Ensure plant and equipment is used to
maximise productivity whilst minimising undue wear and tear.
Take responsibility and ownership for the performance and quality of works undertaken.
Work Health & Safety Exercises sound judgement and proactive safety focus in the carrying out of tasks and
responsibilities in accordance with the WH&S requirements of the role.
Correctly follow all chemical handling procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
Although all chemicals can be dangerous if mishandled, we typically do not spray any
pesticides or what would be considered as dangerous herbicides.
Appropriate operation of machinery in a safe, diligent and responsible manner
Ability to identify safety hazards. Report any safety issues to the Farm Maintenance
Manager
Position Qualities, Skills and General Requirements
Desirable qualities and skills Demonstrated commitment to the farming, earthmoving, landscaping, grounds
maintenance or other similar outdoor industry
Ability to safely operate a chainsaw, ride a motorbike/quad bike and operate earth
moving equipment and farm machinery such as tractors, diggers and trucks
Employment background with relevant agricultural and/or machinery operating
experience
Knowledge and commitment towards WH&S
Versatile and capable of multi skilling and multi tasking
Fit, energetic and capable of doing strenuous physical labour
