Description:
SALARY & HOURS
£11.44 per hour. 37 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8.30-17.00, Friday 8.30-4.30pm
FE Resources is looking for a Supported Education Technician to provide support to the Construction and Catering areas. This role will provide technical support and organise provisions for the safe, efficient and hygienic delivery and operation of the curriculum.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring that all health and safety procedures are followed and to support students in following them
- Ensuring food hygiene regulations are followed and to support students in doing so
- Unpack deliveries and cook when needed as well as take charge of the cleaning of the kitchen
- To receive and process invoices; check prices and quantities are correct; whilst maintaining accurate records and liaising with the Finance unit.
- To maintain stock control systems for commodities, equipment and chemicals.
- To prepare and organise commodities for the catering students’ classes; training restaurant; and for functions.
- To ensure that the specialist teaching areas, stores and equipment are maintained in a clean and hygienic state by daily and deep cleaning.
- Ensure as far as possible the safe working conditions of staff and students, reporting any faults or hazards through the appropriate channels.
- To participate in team meetings and complete any relevant actions arising.
- To check and maintain equipment and health and safety documentation required by the College and by the awarding bodies.
- To liaise with other technicians; lecturers; instructors/assessors; internal verifiers; employers; college staff; suppliers and other related professionals.
