Federal Financials Business Consultant Junior
Position Description
Are you interested in helping solve client’s problems? Do you like to do research and analysis? If so, then we are looking for you! Join a team in which you would work together to solve a client’s financial, budget, and audit remediation related challenges. For early career professionals, you will be partnered with senior staff to learn and you will also apply your education and experience.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities
What you’ll do: (assignments may include responsibilities in one of more of the following areas):
- Develop knowledge of a client’s industry, customers, organization and business objectives.
- Analyze and solve financial and budget management related challenges for our clients and your team, to create or improve a system, process, data, controls and other.
- Collect, review, update and develop SOPs as needed.
- Provide quality client support by answering questions and fostering communication.
- Assess processes, documents, organization structure, and system activities to identify gaps and provide recommendations, innovation and solutions.
- Work closely with the client staff, production team, and development team to translate client issues and concerns into workable solutions.
- Provide financial and budget analysis to the client and your team.
- Provide research to identify causes for errors, manual processes, workflow and control issues.
- Support client in complying with federal regulations, policies and procedures to promote sound, consistent financial and budgetary practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
1-4 years of Accounting/financial management experience
Passion for working with customers in accounting-related disciplines
- Federal financial management/accounting

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot table capability

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
Experience working with financial/accounting systems (federal is preferred)
Experience with audits (federal is preferred)
Experience with federal budget analysis, formulation, and execution cycles
Some familiarity with Federal Financial Regulations and Treasury Financial Manual

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $55,600.00 - $130,500.00.
