A leading developer in the global automation market, Pepperl+Fuchs is looking for an ambitious, conscientious individual to fill its immediate need for a Field Application Engineer in our Factory Automation division.
As a Field Application Engineer, you will be responsible for providing on-site and remote technical and sales support on all products to outside sales. Field service is also possible to end customer and OEMs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other technical area, or related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs on-site technical assistance for the sales force.
  • Makes field service calls to customers or OEMs.
  • Takes overflow technical support calls when necessary.
  • Trains the technical support team to build in-house expertise.
  • Answers technical support phone and email inquiries.
  • Provides assistance with application testing and problem-solving.
  • Assists product managers with complex application or testing problems.
  • Assists with choosing the correct product for an application.
  • Interfaces with affiliates to obtain product or customer information as required.
  • Records service tickets in Siebel (CRM) software and follows up as needed.
  • Maintains detailed records and prepares communications as needed.
  • Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff and the general public.
  • Develops application software to assist customers to integrate the P+F hardware.
  • Writes function blocks that are used by customers for easier programming.
  • Engineers complete systems that include the development of software, hardware and documentation to perform the required customer task.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
