As a Field Applications Engineer at Arrow Electronics, you will be helping our customers select and design-in electronic components and solutions from our extensive line card. Arrow FAEs are trusted advisors, providing technical expertise and guidance to ensure the success of both our customers and suppliers.
We are looking for a Field Applications Engineer, who has the right mix of technical prowess and business savvy and can confidently identify, select, source, win and support new business opportunities. This person should be a self-starter who can prioritize their activities to maximize Design Wins and Sales Revenue around the electronic component products and services they support. This person should be conscious of the value of the opportunities they are driving and provide appropriate levels of support and resources with an effort to maximize sales revenue and design wins.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for utilizing an advanced understanding of the customer needs and technical leadership expertise to champion return on engineering investment; by spending time in front of customers to influence component selection
  • Meet with suppliers to review recent customer design activity and identify compelling solutions to promote with those customers
  • Identify solutions and resolutions to customer design needs and issues
  • Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs. Understand customer needs and leverage Arrow’s engineering and design services resources to facilitate solutions for customers. Apply technical knowledge to influence designs utilizing solution selling, resources, and strategies
  • Partner with the sales team across pre-and post-sales activities, providing technical support and consulting to promote demand creation. Technical calibrations and research with sales and other Arrow depts. and Suppliers in support of the customer design. Champion return on engineering investment, design win priorities, initiatives, and promotions by obtaining buy-in and support from sale
  • Attend supplier trainings in person and via conference call
  • Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing relationships, keeping stakeholders up-to-date on activities, plans, and progressing towards initiatives. Identify key relationships amongst decision makers within suppliers and customers
  • Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings and QBR. Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solutions. Participate in ArrowEDGE initiatives through branch training and customer calls. Organize engineering customer events
  • This job profile requires the assignment and participation in a sales compensation plan. A portion of OTE will be variable and tied to specific sales-related goals as set forth by Arrow
  • Present in technical seminars and workshops around your supplier lines
  • Assist with Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • Meet with suppliers to review recent customer design activity and identify compelling solutions to promote with those customers
