Description:

At BakerHicks, we specialize in managing and delivering technically complex projects. We understand that budgets are finite and construction timelines are stringent.
Our project and programme management teams possess the expertise to manage these constraints effectively, ensuring stakeholders remain updated and projects stay on course.
Renowned for our ability to handle both large-scale, complex developments and smaller improvement projects or procurement strategies, we specialize in creating bespoke plans that ensure projects are delivered according to the brief, on schedule, and within budget.
Based on site with one of BakerHicks’ key clients in the Life Science sector, we are seeking a field based construction planner for an ‘in-flight’ >£200MM TIC EPCM project in its early stages of construction.
This role is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules, coordinating with various contractors and the CM team to ensure that all project activities are planned, tracked, and executed effectively.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction planning, scheduling, and project controls within the process contracting industry.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive demonstrable relevant field construction planning experience on EPCM type projects in the pharma/chemicals industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Expert proficiency in project planning and scheduling using Primavera P6.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Development - Create and maintain detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6 that reflect the project scope, milestones, and deadlines
  • Progress Tracking - Monitor and report on the progress of construction activities, identifying potential delays and proposing corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Resource Planning - Coordinate with Project Management, Construction management Engineering, and procurement teams to ensure that resources (labour, materials, equipment) are allocated efficiently and effectively.
  • Risk Management - Identify and assess potential risks to the project schedule, developing mitigation strategies to minimise impact.
  • Documentation - Maintain accurate records of project schedules, changes, and progress reports. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Site time - Conduct regular site tours to assess progress, verify schedule adherence, and address any on-site issues that may arise.
  • Continuous Improvement - Implement best practices in construction planning and scheduling, continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.
