Role Specification

  • Role Specification
  • Delivery of national projects from the group change program, primarily focusing on commodity changes in stores
  • Full understanding of project requirements and timeline milestones to deliver.
  • Manage all aspects of project pre-work planning
  • Develop bespoke project packs for OSC and operations and contractors.
  • Plan and own OPS prestart and sign off meetings.
  • Delivery of the plan, planograms, and project timeline.
  • Manage OSC resource to cover sickness and holidays.
  • Provide weekly project updates at weekly team meetings.
  • Complete weekly visit reports and share with IDM.
  • Keep timeline ‘visible and live’ and escalate any aspects that are behind to the Project Manager and the Investment Delivery Manager
  • Monitor Individual team’s performance; ensure tasks are completed to the required standard. Share best practice and ‘sign off’ completed work. Escalate team shortfalls to the Investment Delivery Manager
  • Maintain Halfords Safety standards, ensure the store is safe and all colleagues and contractors are working safely.
  • Liaise with contractors and visitors when on site, portraying a well organised, on time project to visitors.
  • Support the shop team throughout the project ensuring maximum customer satisfaction during the project.
  • Have weekly communication with the shop management team informing them of what is happening, what’s going to happen.
  • Manage retail basics standards through use of the detail visit report. Ensure great stock availability throughout the store using the gap monitor. Escalate any areas of concern and produce wish list recommendations to supply.
  • Ensure a fun enthusiastic team atmosphere throughout the project, celebrating good work and giving feedback for individuals on-going development.
  • Have regular conversations with the Investment Delivery Manager on progress, achievements, and concerns.
  • Oversee the on-time implementation and snag of the POS delivery.
  • Project manage Small works elements of group change program.
  • Initiate projects, check feasibility and work out cost estimates, resource (internal & external) and equipment requirements.
  • Manage all aspects of project planning- create project scope, creating timelines and schedule of works.
  • Create and hold project pre-start meetings.
  • Manage the project, which includes coordinating the external contractors keeping it on track and within budget.
  • On occasions assist on site with equipment build
  • Close the project, evaluate successes and challenges learning for future projects.
  • Manage accurate data and reports.
  • Practical construction of equipment/retail racking/warehouse racking adjustment
  • Complete SIERS racking qualification.
  • Complete PASMA scaffold construction qualification
  • Complete IPAF lifter qualification
  • When there is a break in project use this time to develop themselves working on modules from the learning Hub, attend development courses as organised by IDM.
  • Keep themselves and the team up to date by reading the ‘our store’ communications, extrapolate relevant information and share with the wider team.

Essential Experience:
Experience in leading a team preferrable
/ Experience in managing resources, costs, and people
/ Can work to tight deadlines but maintain a good standard of work.
/ Is well planned and organised when completing tasks.
/ Experience in effective prioritising

/ Have practical skills in relation to construction and building projects (domestic or Industrial)
