The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a motivated Field Sales Specialist LC-MS – Chromatography & Chemicals (f/m/d) to join our team in Ireland. In this role, you will independently develop and grow business within your designated product portfolio in the Pharmaceutical, Government, Industrial and Higher Education sectors.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, mostly remote working and at customer sites
The team
Together with your four colleagues, you are part of the Business Development Team, helping our customers receive best-in-class service in identifying and providing the best products for their scientific needs.

What we’re looking for

  • Education: Completed University degree in a Scientific area (Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences or similar)
  • Experience: Several years of field sales experience, preferably within the BioPharma/Chemicals industry
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good understanding on chemicals, LC-MS and chromatography
  • Experience of working in a high paced and target driven environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office Tools, especially MS Excel
  • Experience of utilising and maintaining a CRM system
  • Good understanding on short and long-term selling cycles
  • Able to identify new business and manage existing business and relationships
  • Solid understanding of pricing models and disciplines
  • Outstanding communication skills at all levels in a scientific, technical and business environment

  • You will increase sales by actively promoting and selling the Avantor portfolio of products, services, & solutions to end users
  • By doing so, you will contribute towards the achievement of the company’s set profitability targets
  • Gain and maintain a high level of technical product knowledge
  • Confidently perform product training, demonstrations and seminars to the customer base in addition to designing and delivering internal product training
  • Work with Management to develop a detailed territory plan to ensure all sales and margin targets are achieved and exceeded
  • Provide technical support to Account Managers, regional distributors, segment leaders and sales leaders
  • Effectively interrogate and interpret sales data to assess performance of the territory and use the data to drive sales and margin growth
  • Advise and support in the preparation of quotations and tenders for the chemicals portfolio
  • Build supplier relationships to enhance product portfolio and gain product and service training for our offerings
  • Provide regular and timely market intelligence to our Sales Manager
  • Update all relevant customer interactions on our CRM system SAP C4C
  • Participate in and attend both local and European sales training events, meetings and conferences as required
