Job Description:

Maintaining uptime for these assets is crucial for our customers and is the primary focus of the Aftermarket team.
The Instrument Repair Service Technician provides crucial remote support (phone, email, augmented reality) and repair services for our customers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support distribution partners and end users with both onsite and remote services, in the Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India, based out of the EU. This includes but is not limited to:
- Training – product, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Technical consulting regarding the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of AMETEK PI products
- Onsite repair and maintenance of PI products
- Work with channel partners and end users to create and maintain a work/appointment schedule.
- Create and manage documentation associated with quoting, invoicing, technical reports, etc.
- Service RMAs as needed
- Additional duties as required commensurate with the position and skill level.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Field Service Engineer
- AS Degree in electronics, equivalent military training, or prior work experience with a solid understanding of electronics.
- Detailed understanding of process engineering in the markets we serve (Oil and Gas, Specialty Chemicals, Combustion, etc.)
- Must be capable of training/mentoring junior FSEs, distributor service engineers/technicians, and end users in effective troubleshooting of PI products and associated equipment (e.g., sample handling systems).
- Demonstrated expertise and ability to learn about varied product lines and technologies, and their applications.
- Must be familiar with the use of required test equipment including test rigs, calibration equipment, DVM, Oscilloscope, soldering iron and associated wiring/mechanical tools.
- Must be capable of handling tools and material as heavy as 75 pounds.
- Must be capable of performing job duties outdoors requiring exposure to weather conditions.
- Must be available and capable of traveling by air, land and sea via commercial means.
- Ability and willingness to learn how to service existing and newly-released AMETEK PI equipment.
- Must be achievement-oriented and enjoy taking on challenges, even in adverse situations.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must be a team player. This position will work closely with the AMETEK Process Instruments Field Service, Sales, and Operations team.
Due to AMETEK’s participation with third party health and safety organizations (covering safety, training, and drug & alcohol program administration), all service colleagues may be required to register with AMETEK’s partnering organizations to facilitate servicing our customers.
This position is based in the EU, and reports to the Director of Global Training and Technical Service.
