Field Service Engineer

NVA Canada is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our growing IT team and business. This is a mission critical support position that directly influences desktop infrastructure and specializes in PC setup and troubleshooting. You will work within our small but agile team that will service our site, hospital, administrative, and operational staff.
Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be a quick learner with good communication skills, taking responsibility for converting legacy hospital infrastructure and system to meet NVA Canada’s modern standards. You will be working primarily independently so responsibility and autonomy are strong requirements. This one-year Field Service Engineer contract role will travel to different facilities nationwide to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain our IT systems. You will be knowledgeable and professionally answer customer questions about product features, issues, and upgrades. Our team grows and changes rapidly, so you have an innate sense of urgency, ability to multi-task and prioritize to be successful!

What you’ll need:

  • Typically requires 4+ years of related field services experience.
  • Proven experience on windows server domain migration, hardware and admin, raid arrays, server roles, server migration, virtualization, AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, file, and print
  • Experience with L2/L3 networking, AP’s, firewalls, VLAN’s.
  • Advanced ability to diagnose problems and develop thoughtful and appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to lift 40-60 lbs safely
  • Valid G license & insurance
  • Quick learner with good communication skills

  • Frequent travel across Canada for 1–2-week installation projects
  • In the office (Oakville location) to prepare and ship servers, computers, and network hardware.
  • Expectation that you’ll manage own projects under direction.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, initiative is a requirement for this lean team.
  • Be an ambassador for IT, working across NVA and with clients, to provide effective communication on IT matters.
