Due to a consistent rate of company growth, which is paving the way for further expansion into local markets, we currently have a requirement for a Field Service Engineer / Senior High Voltage Technician to join us on a full-time basis in our Perth, Malaga based office.
This is a permanent role so applicants either need to live locally or be willing to relocate, if locating to Perth from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand we would be happy to discuss relocation costs.
Candidates who can demonstrate a high theoretical and practical knowledge with a wide range of HV primary plant and especially secondary systems are required.
This role also has the potential for national and international travel on a project by project basis.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferable “A Grade” (Fitter and Mechanic) Electrical Workers License or Engineering Degree / Diploma in Power Systems would be highly regarded.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience.
  • HV Switching Ticket preferred.
  • Experience with IEC61850 and GOOSE messaging through IED Scout viewed favourably.
  • Knowledge of appropriate Australian and International Standards.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Proven ability meeting project quality, schedule and budget requirements.
  • Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in using the Omicron suite of equipment for secondary system testing.
  • Power Station experience viewed favourably.

Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning, testing and maintaining HV Protections systems / schemes, experience with IEC61850 / GOOSE communications is highly desirable
  • Commissioning, testing and maintaining HV Substations secondary systems and primary plant
  • Commissioning, testing and maintaining various HV/LV Plant/Assets.
  • Commissioning, testing and maintaining Power Generation Systems.
  • Commissioning, testing and maintaining Power Transformers.
  • Provide technical support and training to technicians.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to technicians.
  • Competent in preparation of commissioning/testing documentation, protection test plans and create detailed technical reports on completion of works.
