THE OPPORTUNITY
Leavitt Machinery is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team in Coquitlam, BC. As the Field Technician you will be assigned to critical machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment
- Knowledge of hand tools and measuring devised and the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic
- Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting/rigging
- Maintaining, dismantling and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment
- Driver’s license (required)
Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson’s ticket, or 5+ years of proven experience in a related industry (required)
Relevant Red Seal Trade Certification (preferred)
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with external customers and internal stakeholders
- Ability to travel to customer sites within local region
- Must be able to gain access to Federal Government buildings through clearance screening process

Responsibilities:
As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:
- Adequately diagnose and repair heavy machinery and lift equipment as required by customers
- Examine overall operational integrity an condition of machinery
- Find defective mechanical or electrical parts, communicate and execute next steps for repair solutions to customers
- Perform preventative scheduled maintenance
- Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals
- Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures
