THE OPPORTUNITY

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team in Coquitlam, BC. As the Field Technician you will be assigned to critical machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment
• Knowledge of hand tools and measuring devised and the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic
• Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting/rigging
• Maintaining, dismantling and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment
• Driver’s license (required)

• Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson’s ticket, or 5+ years of proven experience in a related industry (required)

• Relevant Red Seal Trade Certification (preferred)

• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Ability to travel to customer sites within local region
• Must be able to gain access to Federal Government buildings through clearance screening process

As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:

• Adequately diagnose and repair heavy machinery and lift equipment as required by customers
• Examine overall operational integrity an condition of machinery
• Find defective mechanical or electrical parts, communicate and execute next steps for repair solutions to customers
• Perform preventative scheduled maintenance
• Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals
• Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures
